Lukas setto biography

Lukas Setto has proven himself to be a musician of extraordinary talent, the days and nights devoted to trawling through his father’s extensive DJ collection of the great Motown, soul and jazz greats is a testament to the dedication he has to his music and his devoted fanbase.

If the influences of Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Eric Benét collide with a new modern soul sound Lukas has positioned himself at the forefront of that  musical explosion.

Lukas influences are his base, but his craft of composition and writing began at College where his exploration of vocal melody and song writing began to be noticed to a wider audience.

At college Lukas was the recipient of The Urban Music Award for best Unsigned Artist, an accolade that was cemented by his breathtaking performance of the self -penned track “You Know Me”.

The journey of any talented artist can have many difficult paths to navigate, Lukas is no different, those paths have led to him finding his voice and now that voice has to be heard.

Treading the boards from the Jazz Café to the Shepherds Bush Empire and upwards, Lukas has supported Omar, Ne-Yo, Timbaland & Floetry. Lukas’ rendition of ‘Sometimes I Cry’ by Eric Benet at the BBC Radio London studios left presenter Jo Good speechless.

His proven ability, determination and vision have been noticed and sought after by the likes of  Mark Ronson, Omar, Jordan Sparks & Chris Brown and Daniel Merriweather.

Live performances at the Jazz café, Shepherds Bush Empire and Festival headline slots have cemented Lukas as a sensational live act, his time on stage with Omar, Ne-yo and Timbaland have widened his audience even further.

The writing talents and collaborations with other artists such as Bradley Johnson, Kitty Brucknell and Shanell (Young Money), alongside soul hits ‘Looking For Love’ by Michelle Lawson and ‘Plus One’ by Shaila Prospere (#1 UK Soul Chart) - and the latest collaboration with DJ Mark Knight have seen Lukas become a songwriter in high demand, a prolific artist.

Lukas’ charisma, finesse and ever evolving style have never been in more demand than now, those influences from the LP collection are there as a nod to the greats but his ambition and journey with his fans is for Lukas Setto to be mentioned in the same breath as them one day very soon.

Since 2018 Lukas has been a permanent feature on the airwaves as a regular playlist addition on Mi-Soul Radio, Solar Radio, Starpoint Radio to name but a few - and more recently featured on BBC Radio 1 and 2.

After picking up multiple independent playlists on streaming platforms Spotify, Tidal, Deezer and more, Lukas has amassed more than 2 million streams collectively. His socials are growing daily with over 11k followers on his Instagram alone and 56k monthly listeners on Spotify.
